Arne
You will find the Headquarters for The Royal Society for the
Protection of Birds (RSPB) at Arne, a beautiful nature reserve
overlooking Poole Harbour, approximately 4 miles from the Worgret
Manor Hotel.
At Arne, you can watch nightjars and Dartford warblers, along
with all six species of British reptiles and 22 different kinds
of dragonflies. During the winter, you can also Brent geese,
black-tailed godwits and red breasted mergansers, along with
a large number of other waders and wildfowl.

Radipole Lake
16 miles from the Hotel, in the centre of Weymouth, you will
find a push chair and wheel chair friendly reserve with a large
reed bed, open water, flood meadows and scrub that attracts
a good range of birds all year round. Here, bearded tits and
Cetti’s warblers are joined by sedge, grasshopper and reed warblers
in the summer and migrating birds, stopping to rest as they
head south, in the autumn.
