Walking for lovers of Dorset’s Purbeck
region – you’ll be spoilt for choice!
Walk/Hike in the beautiful Purbeck countryside and
marvel at the magnificence of the Jurassic coastline,
then enjoy the creature comforts of fine dining, comfortable
hotel accommodation and a good night’s rest.
Walking in Dorset attracts more visitors to Dorset
each year than any other activity. There are more
than 5000 footpaths in Dorset, spanning the entire
county!
Whether you are striding across the countryside,
through woods and open fields or ambling along a costal
path, looking for fossils, enjoying the spectacular
beauty that surrounds you and just soaking up the
calming and invigorating atmosphere, you will find
a wonderful variety of walks to meet all these needs.
The nearby Arne RSPB nature reserve, on the edge
of Poole harbour, is one of the many places to enjoy
the pleasures of walking through woodland and heather,
listening to bird calls, while you are caressed by
a cool breeze.
The nearby Jurassic Coast, has recently been declared
a World Heritage Site, so we are now on a par with
the “Grand Canyon” and the “Great
Barrier Reef.” This is where you can enjoy a
variety of coastal walks, when you stay at the Worgret
Manor Hotel.
